BCU Coach Education Courses
Surf-Lines has a long history of running quality Coach Education courses. Our non-residential base in Llanberis is an excellent venue for these training programmes.
The British Canoe Union offers a range of coaching qualifications for individuals wishing to introduce others to the enjoyment of canoeing and kayaking, for developing skills in specific areas such as white water kayaking, sea kayaking and open canoeing, and for developing the coaching and leadership skills of other paddlers.
The UKCC/BCU Level 1 Coach award is the entry point for anyone joining the coaching scheme. This new course introduces coaching, session management and safety skills, and is the platform for future progress within the BCU system of qualifications. The course is suitable for paddlers wishing to coach others within a club environment and for individuals looking to work in outdoor activity centres. For further course details and information on course dates, fees and prerequisities, please go to the Level 1 Coach page.
