DESCRIPTION

Anglesey is a superb playground for sea kayakers. The headlands, tide races, bays and beaches offer some of the best paddling conditions in the UK, with famous venues such as Penrhyn Mawr, The Stacks, Carmel Sound and The Swellies. The rough-water paddling opportunities here are fantastic.

This course introduces and develops the skills needed to paddle confidently among waves and eddy lines. Knowledge, timing and confidence are essential aspects of successful rough-water paddling – we focus on these key boat handling skills to get the most from your paddling.

If you’re looking to take the next step towards rough-water confidence, this course is an excellent stepping stone in your development.

DURATION 2 days

PRIOR EXPERIENCE

You should be a confident paddler with sea kayaking experience in moderate water and a keen-to-learn attitude. The course will take place in suitably challenging conditions for your aspirations, and although rolling skills are not essential, they are certainly desirable to make the most of the training opportunities this course will provide.
